Abbey Bridge

This friendly b & b in Lanercost is a short walk away from Hadrian's wall and a short drive from the M6, Carlisle. You can expect a friendly, warm welcome after your long day of walking or travelling. Clothes and boot drying facilities are available, if the weather has been challenging! This rural retreat bed and breakfast is quiet and cosy, with well equipped, warm rooms and ensuite. Abbey Bridge was constructed as a public house back in 1832, back then it was named The Black Bull. Made from local sandstone with a slate roof, it is a Grade II listed building. During the later part of the 19th century, like many public houses within the area, Abbey Bridge became an Inn.

The beds in this b and b guest house are exceptionally comfortable, and leisurely breakfasts serve fresh, local produce, where possible, for both vegetarians and meat eaters. Dinner can be provided with prior notice and you might be happy to know they are licensed, so you can have that beer or wine you've earned! If you order in advance, packed lunches are also available to get you through the next travelling day. The best b&bs need to provide a great, comfortable night's sleep, excellent breakfast, facilities to make you feel at home and be surrounded by a stunning or interesting locale... Abbey Bridge delievers on all of these points, and when you have awoke from a great sleep, had a filling breakfast and picked up your dry clothes, you have Hadrian's Wall, Lanercost Priory, Brampton, Talkin Tarn, Carlisle, Lake District, North Pennines and Scottish boards to choose from for more adventure.
