Containing some of the most iconic views of the Roman Wall, Hotbank Farm has a traditional, working farm landscape with upland sheep and native breed cattle. Not only Hadrian’s Wall trail, but also the Pennine Way National Trails link up to this lovely site, there is even an accessible path for visitors with limited mobility. Just like Hotbank Crags, this is a hugely popular site for photographers, cropping up in many photographs and even painters framed art pictures, this area just projects natural beauty onto any canvas artwork or photos of Hadrian’s Wall.
Right next to Crag Lough and Steel Rigg, through the seasons you will notice miraculous changing colours and light from the brilliant vistas surrounding the farm. Perfect for the eye of a keen artist of photographer, images from this area end up on posters, canvas, postcards, calendars and countless websites. A true area of natural beauty and one we highly recommend you see and experience, whether it’s through a lens, an artists’ canvas or just muddy walking boots and a camera phone!
